ATR 42/72 Crew Training and Qualification

EPA Training Center is the only crew training and qualification center in South America operating the ATR 42-500 simulator, qualified as level C. This simulator also serves as a platform for training on the ATR 72-500, 72-200, and 42-300 models.

Target Audience: The ATR 42/72 courses offered by EPA are for those seeking to obtain or renew their AT47 qualification.

Courses Offered

Initial

Prerequisites for Second in Command (SIC)

● Commercial Pilot License
● MLTE/IFR ratings
● Theoretical ATP certificate
● Passed IFR Regulations theory exam within the last 12 months
● For pilots with less than 500 flight hours, Entry Level Training is recommended

Prerequisites for Captain (PIC)

● Commercial Pilot License
● MLTE/IFR ratings
● 1,500 flight hours in airplanes
● Theoretical ATP certificate
● Passed IFR Regulations theory exam within the last 12 months

Course Duration

● 55 hours of ground school
● 12 hours of Cockpit Procedures Training
● 6 hours as Pilot Flying in Full Flight Training
● 12 hours as Pilot Flying in Full Flight Simulator, including proficiency check

Recurrent Training

Course Duration

● 20 hours of ground school
●8 hours as Pilot Flying in Full Flight Simulator, including proficiency check

Upgrade Training

Course Duration

● 20 hours of ground school
●8 hours as Pilot Flying in Full Flight Simulator, including proficiency check

Differences for ATR 72-500

Difference Level

A/A/A (training / exam / recent experience).

Theoretical Module

1 hour presenting the differences between ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-500 models.

Pilot Monitoring

Available to complete the crew during simulator sessions if the pilot is training alone.
