Carbon Free Program
The EPA Training Center is part of the Carbon Free program by Iniciativa Verde, a third-sector organization that contributes to the improvement of environmental services such as biodiversity, water, and air quality.
In 2021, the EPA team conducted an assessment of CO2 emissions from employee transportation and business trips. Based on the results, in 2022, a partnership was established with Iniciativa Verde to offset these emissions through the reforestation of the Atlantic Forest. This partnership was renewed in 2023.
Through this initiative, Iniciativa Verde, in partnership with EPA, has already planted 1,001 trees and reforested an area larger than 6,000 square meters in the Serra da Mantiqueira, offsetting 234.62 tons of CO2 emissions.
